The Perfect Summer into Fall Look

If you were to ask me my favourite time of year, I would say it’s summer into fall.
The time of year holds such promise. I’m not too far removed from being a student, so I still associate it with fresh starts, new clothes and reinvention. I still take that ethos into my life every September and love to take the opportunity to refresh my wardrobe, whether that’s buying (or thrifting) new items or finding things in my closet I haven’t worn in a season or two.
I wore this look to a long weekend brunch at Her Father’s Cider Bar and it’s quite honestly my summer into fall uniform. A slightly oversized white button-up, flowy copped pants and a pair of sandals, with some accessories to dress it up a little.
These pants are culottes from H&M and aside from being the perfect length for my 5’2” frame, they’re also one of the best office pants. They’re comfortable, low-maintenance and easy to dress up.
I paired them with another office favourite, my white Pendleton shirt. It’s an amazing thrifted find and truly a classic. If you’ve read How to Be Parisian, you know that a white shirt is a wardrobe must-have.
Speaking of incredible thrift finds, the shoes and bag need a moment. They both add a little pop of colour and print. The crossbody purse is by J. Crew and the most vibrant shade of red. As for the sandals, I actually bought them the day before these pictures were taken, at Good Market Thrift Store in Leslieville. They’re by House of Harlow 1960 and were in excellent condition. I’m not a huge animal print person, but I love how these add a little something to an otherwise plain outfit.
I obviously had to finish it off with my Cake sunglasses from Winners (iykyk), my The Sweet Magnolia Mini Claire Earrings and my rose gold Fossil watch. Right now these are the accessories I regularly have in rotation!
