Why am I blogging?

Every fashion blogger says this, but I’ve always been interested in fashion and styling. All through middle and high school, I would buy Teen Vogue every month and tape the pages of my favourite ads and editorials on my closet door. I started journalism school with the intention of working at a big glossy fashion magazine one day.

Today I’m a lawyer based in Toronto. While I had blogged and written freelance for some websites (many of which no longer exist) through school, my dreams of being a fashion editor didn’t quite work out.

I decided to start this blog when I attended a legal conference in May 2023. Looking at my fellow attendees - mostly younger lawyers like myself - I realized that women’s workwear is in a bit of a crisis! Whether it’s almost three years of pandemic dressing or a lack of options for women who are early in their careers, we need to get reacquainted with dressing for the boardroom as well as the zoom room.

That’s where I come in! I’m here to offer practical, affordable inspiration and advice for young professionals who don’t have a budget to buy all designer, but want to invest in quality pieces and know how to style them.

Since starting this blog, I’ve been able to collaborate with some of my favourite local brands. I’ve also had my commentary featured in the Wall Street Journal.
